Driving Question
What questions might we want to investigate to help us understand why there sometimes is not enough snow for some parts of the dogsled race?

  • What conditions are needed for a dogsled race?
  • What is dogsled racing?
  • What is it like in Anchorage and Fairbanks, and where are they located?
  • Has this happened before?
  • Why do some places have enough snow and others do not?
  • Why do some years have enough snow and others do not?
  • Is it warmer in years that there is not enough snow?
  • Will there be any changes to the race, and what might cause these changes?
  • What is the dogsled route usually, and what will the alternate route be?
